Sources and methods

The detail behind the home page figures, word for word: how the example is calculated, the public support you can apply for, and the twenty-four public pages cited by the comparison, with their dates.

How the example is calculated

Illustrative example, calculated from written parameters: this is not a client result. One return rule across the whole site, the simulator’s, all costs included:

The return rule

period = (one-off costs + months before the first gain × monthly value) ÷ (monthly value − recurring costs).

Parameters

  • 1,337 h/year × €45/h fully loaded (the default hourly cost behind all our figures, Insee 2025 average loaded hourly cost, adjustable in the simulator; a per-profile scale applies when the profiles are known), or ≈ €60k a year and €5k a month
  • the Diagnostic at its published floor price, €12k excl. VAT
  • construction and commissioning of the example’s three cases, under our price list (automate €9k or assist €6k, plus the systems to connect, billed once) ≈ €29k
  • teams’ time ≈ 18 h (0.75 h per person interviewed, 19 people, plus 4 h for the sponsor and the contact person), or ≈ €0.8k at the same hourly cost
  • running costs €150 a month per case, included in the agent’s price for the first year but counted from the first month, as a precaution
  • expert review 5 h a month per case, at the same hourly cost
  • first gain after 2 months of building, the first month of service counting for half
  • Platform excluded
  • 24-month horizon

That is ≈ €42k of one-off costs, ≈ €1.1k of monthly costs and a period calculated at 14.0 months.

The Diagnostic does not include construction: its scoping brief puts a figure on its cost and timeline. Enter your own inputs in the simulator.

Public support you can apply for

What a company director can apply for towards an AI assessment, as published on the date cited. The SHIFTLABS Diagnostic is not eligible for any of this support today: SHIFTLABS is neither accredited by Bpifrance nor referenced by a Region. We say so, so that you can compare with full knowledge.

Diag Data IA (Bpifrance, France 2030 plan)
8 days of a Bpifrance-accredited expert, spread over 3 months at most: €10,000 excl. VAT, 40% funded, i.e. €6,000 excl. VAT payable. Conditions: independent company with 10 to 2,000 FTEs, revenue of at least €1m over a 12-month financial year, more than one year old, registered in France.
DGE, “The national Osez l’IA plan”, updated 28/09/2026; les-aides.fr, Bpifrance sheet, updated 12/08/2026
AI Accelerator (Bpifrance, France 2030)
18-month programme, 46% funded; SMEs and mid-caps above 50 employees, above €8m in revenue, at least 3 years old; applications by 30/11/2026. A possible next step after an assessment, not an assessment.
DGE, 28/09/2026; Infogreffe, Mes aides publiques, consulted 21/10/2026
Regional support
Grand Est, “Diagnostic intelligence artificielle”: 50% of a service capped at €10,000 excl. VAT, i.e. €5,000 at most, provider to be chosen from the Region’s referenced list (sheet dated 02/04/2024, status to be checked). Sud region (PACA), “Mon assistant IA”: advisory service 100% funded, provider selected by the Region (07/07/2026). Ile-de-France, “Pack IA”: 50% of a 37-day programme, €18,500 excl. VAT payable at most (31/08/2025; 2026 opening not confirmed).
les-aides.fr (Grand Est, Sud region); Infogreffe, Mes aides publiques (Ile-de-France)
France Num (DGE directory)
Not financial support: the public directory of referenced providers (“Activateurs France Num”) and the annual barometer of digital usage in SMEs. SHIFTLABS’ referencing application is planned, not filed.

Amount payable, as an example

  • Diag Data IA: €10,000 excl. VAT − €4,000 funded = €6,000 excl. VAT.
  • SHIFTLABS Diagnostic today: €12,000 excl. VAT, with no support.
  • SHIFTLABS Diagnostic if a regional referencing were ever obtained (Grand Est example: 50%, capped at €5,000): €12,000 − €5,000 = €7,000 excl. VAT. This is not the case today.

Subject to eligibility: each body reviews the application and decides. Amounts and conditions as published on the dates cited; check them before signing.
